A Brief History of Myself
My Name as in the Birth certificate, is Venkatachaliah Siva Prasad, though everybody calls me Siva . My Parents call me Prasad and I was my parents’ first born. In 15 th February, 1977 my mother gave birth to me in a semi village called Gudiyattam in North Arcot District of TamilNadu, and I grew up in Kalpakkam, the place known for its nuclear reactors (So don’t be surprised if you find me bubbling with energy). I like having my Family around me, I have one sister and many cousins.
To the rest of the world I am a mild-mannered Physicist; who turned around to become a Master in Business administration, who then needed a job and became a Professional with India’s Leading ISP. I graduated from Madras University in the year 1994 and i enjoy travelling and have too many friends. This is all just a front, shielding an obsessed and cultured mad man who will someday unleash his deeper interests in travelling the whole world and experience, enjoy, learn the different languages and cultures to quench his thirst.
Interests
- Travel - There are so many places in the world to see and my favourite Quote in this regard is “World is a Book, and those who do not travel read only a page”
- Music – Coming from a traditional and an orthodox family setup, the inclination towards music comes naturally to me and I must be proud to admit that my interest for this particular art is commendable.
- Riding Vehicles - Although I only own one of these, and I still need to know more about how to properly maintain it without causing serious damage. This attitude towards automobiles has been nurtured and developed since my childhood. Looking forward to the day when I will be able to afford a real big vehicle like the Harley Davidson and the flamboyant Merc.
- Computing - Since I am working in this, my interest has lessened considerably. Takes all the fun out of it if you do it all day. But anything new that props up flashes and thrills me.
- Reading: I love my collection of Khalil Gibran, Stephen Hawking, Mario Puzo, the newspapers, magazines.
- Cooking : Oflate, i have developed a new interest in cooking. Though i always liked to eat a variety of dishes and food, i had never tried my hand on cooking till last year. And now i am a fully grown cook whose quality of cooking can be measured from the eating (Ofcourse by my friends and not me)
- Social Sciences : Since my school days this subject of study has always been interesting to me. My interest in this ranges from the Ancient history to the Medieval times to Modern days.
- Personal Finance: I am personally satisfied with the way i manage finances and i like to say that i am an active punter of the stock markets. Almost every financial instrument in the country catches my attention, including Insurance.
- Physical Games: Having led an active physical life, my interest towards games and sports are very natural and i should say that i am good sportsman with the right attitude, with many achievements and honours to my credit.
Likes and Dislikes
- Likes:
Travelling around and seeing new cultures and viewpoints. Intricate machinery (when it works). Riding a motorcycle on country lanes on a clear day. True friendship and time spent with them. Dancing, Driving. Open spaces and Science. Anything that makes me laugh.
- Dislikes:
People who don’t treat others with dignity and unprepared to consider another viewpoint. Non Vegetarian food. People poking into my shelf, people with low self-esteem and not ready to take responsibility, bending down to threats, running out of fuel in my bike and other small problems
